The Manatee County Council of the blind, (MCCB), an affiliate of the Florida Council of the Blind, is a membership based support and advocacy organization. MCCB promotes total inclusion in community, state and national programs and services and strives for equality of opportunity and meaningful personal achievement for people who are blind and visually impaired.
Organizational meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at the Manasota Light House Annex located at 7328 N. Tamiami Trail in Bradenton.
Since its formal founding in September, 2010, MCCB has taken the lead in building a coalition with the Manasota Light House, the Division of Blind Services and Southeastern Guide dogs to insure meaningful recognition of Florida's White Cane Law in 2011 and 2012.
Meeting attendees participate in diverse and meaningful programming leading to significant discussion that sets organizational policy.
There is an opportunity to socialize after each meeting as members who wish too eat their evening meal together at a local restaurant located a short distance from the Manasota Light House Annex.
