HALIFAX COUNCIL OF THE BLIND
Halifax Council of the Blind has been a chapter of the Florida Council of the Blind since the early 1960's. It is located in Daytona Beach,
which is known for the International Speedway, driving on the beach, over 5 area colleges and institutions of higher learning, numerous
hopping entertainment and cultural opportunities, a good public transportation and paratransit service, the Blind Services campus and
several blindness-related agencies.
HCB and its over 40 members, have a reputation of being involved in advocacy, education and social/recreational activities.
MEETINGS
HCB meets on the second Thursday of each month, at 6:30 PM, at the Orientation and Adjustment Center for the Blind (1111 Willis
Avenue). Students from all over the state, who attend the center, are welcome to attend meetings and participate in activities of HCB. We
also encourage anyone interested in issues impacting people with visual impairment to check us out.
